When to visit Botswana

Best Time to Visit

Before booking your trip to Botswana with Untamed Photo Safaris, you must consider the time of year on when to enquire for a private photo tour. In Botswana like most countries there are rainy seasons and dry seasons.

During the dry season months of May and September, these are well known to be the best times to come to Botswana as the Okavango Delta, Chobe National Park and the Kalahari Desert is where the weather is at its driest. At this time of year, temperature is cooler making it a pleasant experience to photograph wildlife.

During the months of January and February the rains are constant and some lodges are closed.

October-November holds very hot weather in Botswana and game viewing is pretty good. This is the off season but there is a benefit. Parks are less crowded and prices drop.
