This exhilarating photo safari is based in the Masai Mara Region of Kenya and focuses on the predators that patrol the area. From Lion, to Hyena, Leopard, Cheetah, Serval, and more, the Mara is home to an abundance of predators. As January is the time of year where the resident Wildebeests and Zebra are giving birth, the predators are exceptionally active. The calving season brings the predators out like no other time of the year in the Mara, as the young wildebeest calves make for the perfect prey for lions and leopard.


SAFARI OVERVIEW
This photo safari located in the Masai Mara National Reserve is focus on the residential predators in the area. From Lions and Leopards predating on newly born Wildebeest calves, to Hyenas and Jackals sneaking in to steal the scraps, this tour is full of excitement. Each day will consist of two safari game drives that will last from 3 to 5 hours in length, squeezing in as much safari time as possible.
This all-inclusive tour travels to two tented camps throughout the tour, giving guests a great variety of landscapes for their wildlife subjects. This time of year can also provide beautiful skyscapes with storm clouds in the distance making for dramatic photographs. With photographic guidance throughout the tour, we guarantee guests leave with an astonishing portfolio.

ITINERARY
DAY 1
Upon your arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (airport code NBO) your photography guide will greet guests and take you to our Nairobi lodge located just outside of the city. Your photography guide will brief you about the thrilling journey ahead, and get to know each of our guests. This day is perfect to get to know your photographer and the other guests in the group. Your guide will be happy to discuss any photography questions or concerns with you at the lodge on this night. Have an early night, or enjoy the company of the other photographers in the group before heading to The Masai Mara the following morning.
DAY 2
After an early breakfast, the group will head to Wilson Airport, where we will take a domestic flight into the Mara region to start our safari. This chartered flight will bring you spectacular views the great plains of Kenya. As we land on the secluded runway in the open plains, our transfer vehicle and local expert will be awaiting our arrival with greeting beverages and a very warm welcome. The group will take a short drive through the open plains to Base Camp Masai Mara. Spotting wildlife along the way is very possible so camera will be out and ready during this transfer to the camp, including large herds of Wildebeests and their new born claves grazing in the grasslands
On arrival we will have lunch followed by an introduction to the photography ahead. We will later leave on a remarkable afternoon photo safari. This first trip will take you through the open plains of the Masai Mara with our main focus being predators of the territory. Guests will also have the opportunity to photograph other wildlife that is spotted throughout the safari as well. We will return for dinner overlooking the reserve, followed by some relaxing free time to enjoy the wilderness around a camp fire.
