Where will your camera lead you next?
Untamed Photo Safaris offers our guests many wildlife photographic destinations, all of which highlighting an entirely different variety of wildlife and environments. A great place to start is to ask yourself what you are interested in photographing and see where this takes you. African wildlife varies around the continent so we will need to dig a little deeper if you are thinking about an African Safari. Each country hold something special for our photography clients to experience while on tour with us. Take a look at some of the highlights of each of our incredibly unique photo tour destinations.
Here are the main wildlife highlights of each destination:
How much time will you spend traveling?
Another big influence to consider while planning your photo tour is time. How much time can you spend away from home, away from work, the family, etc. All of our photo safaris are between 9 and 12 days long, making your travel time within a two week period. The more time you spend on safari, the better results you will get, after all, we only work with wild animals (no sanctuaries, zoos, enclosures, bating, etc.). With this being said, we understand taking endless amount of time away is not always possible. We believe guests will have ample photographic opportunities during an approximate 10-day period in all of our destinations. With the help of our local experts our photography specialists will do their best to provide you with as many photographic opportunities as possible.
Selecting your next wildlife photography tour
Each of our tours are offered during the prime time of the year to ensure the best sightings and photographic opportunities in each destination. We currently offer tours in Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Botswana, and Namibia. Each offers an exclusive feel, as our largest group size is 6 guests maximum. We keep our numbers small to ensure each guest gets the photographic guidance they need while on tour with Untamed Photo Safaris
We offer two Tanzania wildlife photo safaris each year. The first Tanzania photo safari falls during the month of February, where guests will experience a visit to Ngorongoro Crater, having lunch on the crater floor. The main highlight of this tour however is witnessing the birth of young Wildebeests in the Serengeti. View our Tanzania in February Tour here. Our second Tanzania photo safari is held in the months of July/August where the highlight of this tour is the Great Migration crossing in the Northern most section of the Serengeti. Other highlights include a visit to Ngorongoro Crater and into Central Serengeti in search of predators including Lion, Leopard and Cheetah. View our Tanzania in August Tour here
Similarly to Tanzania, we offer two tours in Kenya each year. Our first Kenya photo safari is in the month of January. This 9-day photo tour focuses solely on the predators of the Masai Mara. During calving season, this is the best chance to find predators on the prowl. With easy prey during January, this is your best chance to photograph predators with their kills. View our Kenya in January Tour here. The second tour we offer in Kenya falls during the month of August, with focus being on the Great Migration. The goal of this tour is to get those timeless photos of the migrational herds as they risk their lives crossing the Mara River. With the Great Migration of Wildebeest and Zebra being the most spectacular wildlife movement on the planet, this is a must do safari for any wildlife enthusiast.
