KENYA PHOTO SAFARIS
Small-group and private wildlife photography safaris across the Masai Mara, Amboseli, Samburu, Shompole and Kenya’s most rewarding photographic regions.
Why Kenya Is Exceptional for Wildlife Photography
Kenya is one of Africa’s most rewarding destinations for wildlife photographers, offering an extraordinary mix of big cats, elephants, rare northern species, dramatic landscapes and specialist hide photography. From the predator-rich plains of the Masai Mara to the elephant herds of Amboseli, the unique wildlife of Samburu and the creative possibilities of Shompole’s photographic hides, Kenya offers remarkable variety within one country.
Our Kenya photo safaris are designed for photographers who want more than a standard safari. With small groups, expert photographic guidance, carefully planned routes and time in the field, each journey is built around light, behaviour, positioning and meaningful wildlife encounters.

Best Time for a Kenya Photo Safari
Kenya offers excellent wildlife photography across much of the year, but each season brings different light, landscapes, wildlife movement and access conditions. For safety, comfort and reliability, we do not usually recommend March or April for safari travel due to heavy rains, flooding risk and difficult vehicle access in some areas.
JANUARY to FEBRUARY
Excellent green-season photography
A short dry season with quieter parks, green landscapes, dramatic skies and strong predator photography.
March to April
Not recommended
Heavy rains can bring flooding, difficult road conditions and reduced vehicle access, we do not usually recommend March or April for Kenya safari travel
May
Quiet transition season
A quieter month as the rains ease, with green landscapes, fewer vehicles and interesting photographic conditions for flexible travellers.
June to July
High season wildlife photography
A strong period for Kenya photo safaris, with productive wildlife viewing, drier conditions and excellent opportunities across multiple regions.
August to September
Great Migration in the Masai Mara
One of the most sought-after times for Kenya wildlife photography, with migration movement, predator activity and classic Masai Mara action.
October to December
Dry season into short rains
October is a productive dry-season month, especially for wildlife around water sources. November and December bring short rains, quieter parks and fresh green landscapes.
