RECOMMENDED GEAR
CAMERA BODY:
-
Guests are encouraged to bring a camera body with a minimum of 24-megapixels to guarantee the best results while on safari. This can be mirrorless or a DSLR, as your photo host is experienced with both and will be able to offer assistance whenever need be.
-
A second camera body is always a great consideration, however, this is not mandatory. This can be used as a backup, or you can keep a second lens attached and switch back and forth between cameras.
LENSES:
-
70–200mm lens: A must-have for this itinerary, offering excellent versatility across varied environments — from the dense elephant herds in Tarangire to intimate predator encounters in the Serengeti. Perfect for portraits, behavior, and close-to-mid-range scenes.
-
4000mm/500mm lens (prime or zoom): Highly recommended for big cats on the prowl, distant kills, and dramatic wildlife moments in Ngorongoro Crater, Central Serengeti, and Northern Serengeti. Whether prime or zoom, this lens gives you the reach needed for exceptional detail and storytelling across vast landscapes.
-
If using a 500mm prime, pairing it with a 70–200mm allows you to cover both ends of the action spectrum without the need to change lenses, especially helpful when scenes unfold rapidly in the field.

SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK (NORTHERN REGION):
